Janet Louise Downey

Janet Louise Downey, aged 62, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 1, 2019 at home in Morgantown, WV when she lost her battle with cancer. She was born on September 4, 1956 in Morgantown, WV to William Rodeheaver and June Rodeheaver. Throughout her life, Janet was a devoted mother, sister, daughter and friend. Even more, she was a dedicated, loving and generous grandmother who gave so much to so many people. Janet was preceded in death by her father, William Rodeheaver, husband, Bill Downey, mother, June Rodeheaver, sister, Sandy Carallino, and brothers, Rick Rodeheaver, Daniel Rodeheaver and Roger Rodeheaver. Janet is survived by her son, Jay Michael, his wife, Ashleigh, and their children, Grace (6), Danielle (4) and Jameson (1) of Houston, TX. She is also survived by her daughter, Jennifer June, and her children, Micheal (17), Nicholas (15) and Brittany (13). An invaluable support system for Janet during this time was Curtis Lattea and Cathie Boone. Curtis had become like a second son, and Cathie was as close as a sister. They have been her caregivers, confidants and closest friends over the past few years focusing solely on Janet and her care. There will not be a funeral service, but there will be a small private memorial service at an undecided date upon her final request Private 08/05/2019
