Jane Arlene Hetrick Smyth, passed peacefully, with family by her side, following a long illness at the Madison Center in Morgantown. She was 84. Jane was born in National, WV on May 13, 1938, the daughter of Kenneth Hetrick & Lillian Kelly Hetrick Lewis.
Jane was a homemaker for many years & worked hard keeping her family clothed, fed & happy.
She was a Christian by faith.
Survivors include her children, Keith Smyth of Grant Town, WV, Walter Smyth, Jr. of Morgantown, Charlene Smyth of Bridgeport, Arlene Poling (David) of Green River, WY & Cynthia Braham (Freddie) of Morgantown; sister-in-law Adele Hetrick of Morgantown; two brothers-in-law, Clifford Powers of Morgantown & John ‘Mike’ Wilburn of Maryland.
Also surviving are her four grandchildren Roger Braham & Allen Poling, Jackie Shipley & Jeremy Sakacsi; great & great-great grandchildren, John, Ceirra, Lauren, Paige, Tanner, Emily, Zoe, Chelsea, Jack, Kyle, Brooklyn, Rebekka, Jordann & Adylline.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Walter ‘Buster’ Smyth; stepfather Earl Lewis; two sisters, Elaine Powers & Loretta Pratt; brothers, Timothy, Darrel & Dale Hetrick; granddaughter Brandi Braham & daughter-in-law Melinda Smyth.
Friends and family will gather at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Thursday January 12, 2023 from 4 to 7 PM and again on Friday from 10 AM until services at 11 AM with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. She will rest beside her husband at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
