Jamie Louise Leonian

Jamie Louise Leonian, 57, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born in Bethesda, MD on October 26, 1964, a daughter of the late James and Barbara Chipps. She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, John and Audra Leonian; and nephew, CJ Ghuste. Jamie is survived by her husband, John Leonian; brother, James Chipps Jr.; sisters, Laura (Charles) Ghuste and Jennifer (Ray) Marrero; brother-in-law, Joe (Ora) Leonian; nieces, Jessica (Brian) Leppard, Rebecca (Justin) Batson, and Trisha Ghuste; nephew, Jeremiah Ghuste; and rescue cat, Baby. She is also survived by many great nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Jamie worked for many years at the Patteson Drive Kroger as a cake decorator and store leader. She had a love for all animals, but none more than Baby, her rescued cat and companion. Baby could always be found by her side, especially while she was tending her plants. Jamie had a green thumb; gardening was second nature to her and an important part of her life. The same loving care she showed to her garden could also be seen in the way she treated her family and friends. Whether out bowling, fishing, or in her travels, Jamie was a true social butterfly, and always went out of her way to brighten anyone’s day, be they a new acquaintance or an old friend. Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday, June 27 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM and Tuesday, June 28 at 10 AM until the time of service at 12 PM, with Pastor Kenny Reed officiating. Following the services, Jamie is to be cremated, with an interment at Nicholson Chapel to be announced at a later date.
