James Hamilton Jim' Yeager, 65 of Kingwood Pike, died at home on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 due to COPD. Jim was born in Morgantown on April 24, 1949, son to the late Harry and Argyle Nicholson Yeager. Jim graduated from Valley High School in Masontown, WV with the class of 1967. Jim served a tour of duty with the Army in Vietnam in 1970 with the Third/Third of the Ninth Infantry Division. After serving two years of active duty he joined the National Guard at Camp Dawson, Kingwood, WV. He served in Desert Storm in 1990 with the 201st Field Artillery. He retired from the Guard in 1999 with 26 years of service. Jim also retired from the Monongalia County Board of Education. Jim loved to work on his farm and take care of his cows. When his health declined, he was unable to continue his passion of farming. Jim is survived by his wife, Wanda Radabaugh Yeager; two step-daughters, Jami Hamrick and husband Mike, of the Kingwood Pike and Becky Radabaugh and companion Sarah Alt of Morgantown; five step-grandchildren, Kelsey Stackpole, Tyliason Hamrick, Brittainy Nicholson, Fallon Nicholson and Alexandra Alt and his sister Carol Radabaugh and husband Ken of Elyria, OH. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Sheila Daft Yeager; step-daughter, Trudy Nicholson and step-son-in-law Larry Nicholson. The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice Care Corporation for the great care and compassion they showed Jim. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 2 to 4pm and 7-9pm and again on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 4 to 9pm. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Sunday at the Fred Jenkins Chapel of Prayer with Pastor John Brosky officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Grafton Rd. with military honors conducted by WVANG, Camp Dawson and Westover VFW Post 9916.
