James Michael Shamblin

James Michael Shamblin, 69, of Clay County, WV, passed away on November 21, 2017 at his home on Rock Creek Road. He was born June 14, 1948 in Sutton, WV a son of the late Ralph B. and Betty Lee Shamblin. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Stephen R. Shamblin. He is survived by a brother John R. Shamblin, sister Jane S. White and husband Ben, nephew Zachary P. White, daughter Jennifer Lynne Roxanis, grandson Brandon James Roxanis, and a special family friend Dee Barrick. Jim graduated from Morgantown High School in 1966 and worked various places during his lifetime including WVU Medical Center, Pipestem State Park, and was employed as security for Taylor's Logging Company when he died. He loved the outdoors and spent his free time hunting, fishing, and gardening. He loved sports and his favorite teams were the St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Red Sox, and, of course, the WVU Mountaineers. We will never forget his keen sense of humor, his generosity and his willingness to always help others. Honoring the family's wishes, cremation is being arranged by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Thursday November 30, 2017 from 1pm until the time of the memorial service at 2pm with Pastor Junius Lewis officiating.
