James Joseph Sellaro, 65, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on May 22, 2025, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
Born December 12, 1959, in Morgantown, Jim was a proud graduate of St. Francis High School (Class of 1978) and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University. He went on to build a successful and fulfilling career alongside his family in business and property management.
Jim first worked at Suncrest Foodland, part of his family’s business, and later spent nearly 40 years running Sellaro’s Overhead Door Service. Along with his brothers, he also managed residential and commercial properties in the Morgantown and Star City areas.
Jim deeply valued his family. He is survived by his mother, Mary Agnes Sellaro; brothers, Anthony (Carla) Sellaro and John (Mary) Sellaro; nephew and nieces, Brendan, Victoria, Erica, and Rachel; and grandnieces and grandnephew, Giovanna, Sadie, Ava, and Nico. He is reunited in peace with his father, Anthony D. Sellaro.
A man of faith and humility, Jim was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Star City. He lived simply, loved his family deeply, and will be remembered for his quiet strength and generous heart.
Jim’s family will honor his wish for cremation, which was arranged by the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home. A private Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
