James Fredrick Mcnemar, Sr.

James F. ‘Bud’ McNemar, Sr., 83, of Dug Hill Road went to be with the Lord on Thursday June 10, 2010 surrounded by his loving family and friends. James was born in Morgantown, WV on September 28, 1926 to the late Fredrick and Edith Croucher McNemar. He served in the US Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. For 22 years Bud worked at Morgantown Produce and missed only one day of work in 22 years. He was also employed at Andy Hess Stockyard and Wilburn’s. In post retirement he was a custodian at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Laurita Energy. Bud was the oldest member of the Living by Faith Church. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate, Vivian Ruth Gray McNemar who he married on July 3, 1953. In addition to his spouse, he is survived by his sister-in-law Phyllis Jean Gray; four children, James F. ‘Punky’ McNemar, Jr., and wife Tina of Kingwood, Michael A. Gray and wife Lisa of Morgantown, Barbara Blanton of Cookeville, TN, and Sandra ‘Sandy’ Balboa and husband Richard of Arizona; local grandchildren Robert McNemar of Morgantown, Charity Allen Austin and husband Nicholas of Kingwood and Andrew Gray of Morgantown and one great granddaughter Alexis ‘Lexi’ Allen of Kingwood plus several out of state grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother Edward ‘Eddie’ McNemar and wife Ann of Kimbolton, OH; many special nieces and nephews; family friends Joe V. Moore and Scott Gibson of Morgantown, Frank Mayhew also of Morgantown and his faithful feline companion ‘Bo’. In addition to his parents Bud was preceded in death by two infant sons. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday June 13, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held 3pm Monday at the Fred L. Jenkins Chapel of Prayer with Rev. David R. Tomer officiating. Burial will follow at the Donaldson Cemetery with military rites conducted by Westover VFW Post 9916 and WVANG Camp Dawson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all medical staff and professionals who cared for Bud through the years.
