James "Jimmy" Carter

April 10, 1968 — November 17, 2017

James "Jimmy" Edward Carter, 49, of Chaplin Hill, left this world peacefully to the arms of God surrounded by his loving family on November 17, 2017. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father Robert "Bob" Carter and his mother Charlotte (Lake) Carter. Jimmy is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Carter and Mary; and one brother Robert Carter Jr. and spouse Debbie; nieces and nephews, Joey, Jason, Jennifer, Jim, Robin, Mike, Shawn, and Rebecca; great nephews, Tyler and Christian and great nieces, Geena and Madison. Jimmy was an avid wrestling fan, loved family time and loved participating in Special Olympics and put his all in helping with fundraising for 35 years. Jimmy will be missed by many but will never be forgotten. He enriched the life of every person he met and was always happy to give a hug. A private service is planned with Pastor Allen Donham officiating. Because of Jimmy's love of Special Olympics, in lieu of flowers please donate in memory of Jimmy to Monongalia County Special Olympics, 400 Mylan Park Ln, Morgantown, WV 26505. Our family would like to thank Care Partners and Morgantown Hospice for their special care and a special thank you to Charlotte, Mary, Maggie, April, and Dr. Shrader. A heart felt appreciation also to Dr. Maroon for walking alongside of Uncle Jimmy on his journey. Private 11/18/2017
