James Dent 'Jim' Gabbert

January 13, 1944 — September 2, 2016

James Dent 'Jim' Gabbert, 72, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

The son of the late Donald and Isabelle Straight Gabbert, he was born January 13, 1944 in Morgantown.

Jim was a retired coal miner. He enjoy horseback riding and playing golf. Jim loved his pets but most of all he was a family man.

Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sarah Penrod Gabbert; a daughter, Debra Summers; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a sister, Juanita Sine.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; three daughter, Gina, Kimberly, and Kathy Gabbert; and two brothers, Donald and Danny Gabbert.

Family and friends are invited to Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, Tuesday, September 6, 2016, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
