James Franklin Croaston, 88, of Jere, WV passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Brighton Nursing Home in Beaver, PA. He was born August 14, 1929 in Fairmont, WV son to Ellis and Stella Emrick Meaner Croaston.
James worked for O.J. White, Davis & Lynch Glass, WVU Hospital, Monongalia County Board of Education and retired from the West Virginia Division of Highways in 1991.
James was also an Evangelist for 42 years. From Ohio and across West Virginia he told of the Love of Christ, sharing the Gospel with hundreds of people along the way.
James married the love of his life, Mrs. Susie Croaston. They have been married for more than 69 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven daughters, Shirley Thomas, of Calif., Donna Aileen Bohon of NC, Judy Garner, of FL, Debra Freeland, Charlotte Shepherd, Ruth Croaston & Peggy Strong all of Morgantown. Also surviving are at least 52 grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
James was preceded in death by two sons, James Franklin Croaston, Jr., & Loran David Croaston; one daughter, Janet Barnett; five brothers, Riley, Wilbert, Roy, Raymond and Harold and his two sisters, Lucille McGilton, and Helen Croaston.
Friends may gather in support of the family at the Fred L. Jenkins Chapel of Prayer on Thursday July 5, 2018 from 11am until time of services at 1pm with Pastor Russell Medley officiating.
