SSG. James Jimmy' Lindsey Cornwell, 54, of Morgantown passed away Sunday April 8, 2012 at his residence. He was born June 27, 1957 in Randolph County a son to the late Nathaniel David Cornwell and Peggy V. Lewis Cornwell Johnson. Jimmy served his country as a member of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne 101st Battalion stationed in Fort Campbell, KY. He retired from the Army after 24 years of service to his country. Jimmy enjoyed sports especially basketball. He is survived by six brothers Dennis Cornwell, Robert Cornwell, William Cornwell and wife Wanda, Walter Johnson and wife Lori, John Johnson, Jr., and wife Kelly, Michael Cornwell; four sisters Pearl Waters and husband Donald, Mary Thomas, Peggy Cookie' Higginbotham and husband Marvin, Peggy V. Cornwell Collins and husband Moses; his best friend Vaughn Stiefvater; special nephew Drew E. Johnson and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Nathaniel David Lewis Cornwell, Thomas Howard Cornwell; and a sister Doris Cornwell. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Thursday April 12, 2012 from 7-9pm and again on Friday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Jehovah's Witnesses officiating. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery with military rites conducted by Westover VFW Post 9916 and WVANG Honor Guard Camp Dawson, Kingwood, WV.
