James Alfred Casino

James Alfred ‘Moose’ Casino, 87, of Star City, passed away just 22 days after his wife Betty on Wednesday, March 29, 2017. He died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Morgantown on April 6, 1929, son to the late Joseph and Minnie Brooks Casino. Jim worked as a glass blower and then later retired as a high-lift operator in Maidsville.

Jim was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1953. Jim was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 9916.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Diana Kerns and husband Terry of Star City; two sons, Skip Kerns and wife Patty of Morgantown and Tim Kerns of CA; twin sister Jean Bitonti of Fontana, CA and sister Babe Stephens and husband Johnny of Morgantown; grandchildren, Jim, John, Lisa, Kelly, Shawn, and Misty; and great-grandchildren, Everest, Olivia, Allanaha, and Landon.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Casino who died on March 7; brothers, Fred, Frank and Joe Casino, sisters, Louise Hildebrand, Betty Webber and an infant sister.

Family will receive friends at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 11am until time of services at 1pm with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Westover VFW Post 9916.
