Ivan G. Ehlers

Ivan G. Ehlers, 72, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday March 24, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born August 9, 1945 in Milan, IN, a son of the late Charles G. and Lula Margaret Wilson Ehlers.

Ivan served his country honorably as a helicopter mechanic with the U.S. Army. He was a heavy duty mechanic for several companies throughout his life and retired from Parrotta Paving.

In his spare time he enjoyed watching Westerns and working on cars. He was also known as a people watcher. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two daughters Amanda Matheny and husband Oliver, Linda Menear and husband Joe all of Morgantown; six grandchildren Joseph Menear and wife Tia, Holly Lukac and husband Zack, Aaron Shorter, Ashley Shorter, Daniel Matheny, Kerra Matheny, one great grandson Levi Menear; six sisters and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Alex Ast.

Honoring Ivan’s wishes, cremation was arranged by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.

Friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Thursday March 29, 2018 from 3pm until the time of memorial service at 4pm with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
