Ishmeal Laroy Graddy, Jr.

Having lost his final battle with lung cancer, Ishmeal LaRoy Graddy, Jr., age 75, left this earthly life on June 22, 2021 at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center. He is survived by his wife Janet Graddy; son Joseph and wife Samantha Graddy; son Timothy and wife Katie Graddy; daughters Shelley and Sheila Graddy; grandchildren Kailie and John Graddy; and sister Rebecca Cameron. He was preceded in death by a son Kelley Graddy; a grandson Robert Darby; a sister Laverne Flye; and his parents Ishmael and Dorothy Graddy. Ishmeal proudly served in the US Marine Corp and was highly decorated during the Vietnam War. He later received a master's degree in Military Science. Although raised in the South, he became a loyal Mountaineer after marrying Janet. He followed his father's example by answering the call to become a pastor and retired from the United Methodist Church in 2013. During retirement, he enjoyed using his computer and learning to play guitar. At his request, there will be no public services. Interment has been entrusted to the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home and will take place at East Oak Grove Cemetery with military honors. Graveside Service 06/25/2021 1:00 PM
