Holbert Franklin Butch' McDonald, Sr., 65, of Morgantown passed away on Thursday February 13, 2014 at his home. He was born September 27, 1948 in Morgantown son of the late Richard and Madeline McDonald. Holbert was a great man. You couldn't have asked for a better more loving husband, father and grandfather. He fought for our freedom in Vietnam as a member of the Army. He loved his family very much. God definitely got the best angel he could have asked for. He will be greatly missed. He worked for the city of Westover for 15 years. He loved to hunt and fish and going to flea markets. He is survived by his wife, Linda McDonald and six sons, Holbert Turk' McDonald, Jr., and wife Jaime, Derick McDonald, Zack McDonald and wife Lydia, Benjamin McDonald, Jesse McDonald and Shane McDonald; step children, Merle Murphy and Kristy Mullenax, Annie Murphy and Lori Murphy. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and nine brothers and sisters. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Sally, Shirley and Barbara and one grandchild Exivarier Mason. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday Feb. 16, 2014 from 3pm to 5pm. Cremation will follow. Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Linda McDonald 2051 River Road, Morgantown, WV 26501.
