Herbert 'Dave' Edgell, Jr.

Herbert David ‘Dave’ Edgell, Jr., 76, of Morgantown, passed away on October 31, 2020.

The son of Verna Barbour Edgell, of Morgantown and the late Herbert David Edgell, Sr., he was born April 11, 1944, in Hattiesburg, MS.

Dave was a proud business partner of RH&M Machine Company. He was a 32nd-degree Master Mason of the A.F & A.M. Masonic Lodge 157 located in Fairmont, WV, and a member of the Triune-Halleck Volunteer Fire Department. Dave was a board member of Little Creek Public Service District. He enjoyed being outdoors riding his ATV, camping, and deer hunting. The pride and joy of Dave’s life were his children and his grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, Dave is survived by his wife, Linda Ferrell Edgell, whom he married on November 26, 1964. He is also survived by his three children: Herbert David ‘Dave’ Edgell, III, Pamela Edgell Smith, and Maria Edgell Hayhurst and her husband, Gary Hayhurst, Jr.; five grandchildren: Louis Edgell, Amber Sites, Reese Edgell, Madelyne Sites, and Brooklyn Hayhurst; a brother and his wife, John ‘Jack’ and Nancy Edgell; his faithful canine companion, Daisy; and several other loving family members.

Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 4 to 7 pm and again on Thursday, November 5, 2020, from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Randy Vincent officiating. Dave will be laid to rest at Pisgah Cemetery.
