Helen Lee Phillips

Helen Lee Shannon Phillips, 69, of Morgantown, passed away on Friday June 13, 2014, while at home, surrounded by her family. Helen was born January 26, 1945, in Tunnelton, WV, daughter of the late Walter H. Red' and Mary Delores Shannon. Helen graduated from Morgantown High School in 1962. After high school, she attended and graduated from the Morgantown Beauty School. She briefly worked as a beautician, later working at both Sterling Faucet and Morgan Shirt Factory, where she retired. Surviving are her husband, Charles Chuck' Phillips, whom she married on July 2, 1966; daughter Leigh Ann Bean and husband Keith, daughter-in-law, Julie Phillips, brother Larry and wife Arline, brother Ron and wife Marcia; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Eldon Hagedorn, sister-in- law and brother-in-law, Patricia and Darrell Greer and brother-in-law Carl Myers. The pride and joy of her life were her grandchildren, Emma Bean and Tristan Phillips. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents Helen was preceded in death by her son, Charles Richard Rick' Phillips; sister Carolyn Myers; paternal grandparents, Walter and Lettie Shannon; maternal grandparents, Ed and Mabel Simpson; in-laws, Paul Blake Dutch' and Lou Willa Phillips; nephews Jeff Greer and Brian Hagedorn. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday, June 15, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm and again on Monday from 10am until time of services at 11am. Burial will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
