Helen E. Bohon

Helen Eleanor Bohon, 85, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday September 28, 2019 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born March 19, 1934 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Earl and Ada Smith Ayersman.

Helen started working at McCrory’s Store in Morgantown, she was then employed as a housekeeper at Holiday Inn and later Hotel Morgan until her retirement. In her spare time Helen loved dancing. She also enjoyed reading and working on crossword puzzle books.

She is survived by her children Raymond Bohon and fiancé Anna Friend of Kings Mountain, NC, Melvin Bohon and wife Eileen of Albemarle, NC, Sandy Johnson and husband Dan of Morgantown, Tim Nicholson, who Helen raised as her own, of Clover, SC; brother Richard ‘Dick’ Ayersman and wife Mary Ann; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by a brother Earl Ayersman and a sister Mary Dixon.

Friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Tuesday October 1, 2019 from 11am until the time of funeral services at 1pm with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Helen will be laid to rest beside her parents at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
