Hazel Viola Durham

Hazel Viola Durham, 87, of Elkins, WV, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015, at the WVU Hospital, Ruby Memorial. She was born, October 14, 1927, in Beltsville, MD, daughter to the late Samuel Iden and Nettie Melisa Liesure Cochran. She was a homemaker for many years. Hazel is survived by five daughters, Sandra Haywood of Hagerstown, MD, Brenda Mitchell of Greenbackville, VA, Carrie DuVall of North Beach, MD, Sherrie Evans of Frederick, MD and Georgette Demer of Elkins, WV; one son Dannie Durham of Ft. Myers, FL; one brother, Gilbert Cochran of Mt. Airy, MD and one sister Ruby Wilkerson of Eastern Maryland. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert Durham and several brothers and sisters. Cremation services were provided by the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, 10 South High Street, Morgantown, WV 26501. Interment will take place at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Rockville, MD at the convenience of the family.
