Harold Lee Gillespie

Harold Lee Gillespie, 60, of Morgantown passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at his home. He was born June 29, 1955 in Morgantown, son to the late Charles and Rosie Gillespie. Harold graduated from Morgantown High School and worked various jobs, including Seneca Glass, before starting his career at WVU. Most recently he worked at Towers as a Maintenance Supervisor with more than 20 years of service. In his spare time, Harold loved to travel and attended many sporting events, fairs, festivals, concerts and outdoor activities to sell concessions for Lambert's Concessions. Harold was an active member of the Elks Lodge both in Mannington and Morgantown. He coached for the Elks Little League, bowled on several leagues in the area and was fan of the Steelers and WVU. His love of the outdoors often took him to many of the area's best trout streams and lakes. Harold also volunteered with the Monongalia County Sheriff's Reserves. Surviving are his two daughters, Crystal McMillen and husband Pat of Morgantown and Amanda Ice and husband Rob of Fairmont; three grandchildren, Raegan, Raeanna and Robbie Ice all of Fairmont; three siblings, Liz Bolyard and husband Gary of Morgantown, Shirley Saunders and husband Tom of Baltimore, MD and Bernard Gillespie and wife Patty of Morgantown. Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Sue Gillespie of Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Junior Gillespie. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. Honoring Harold's wishes cremation will follow.
