Obituary

Gladys D. Celey, 88, of Fort Worth, Texas (Formerly of Morgantown, West Virginia), passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026. Born on March 23, 1937, in San Angelo, Texas, to Marvin and Annie Daniel, Gladys attended San Angelo High School. In June 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, Barry F. Celey. As a Navy family, they traveled the world together during Barry’s military career.

Gladys dedicated 40 years to a career in banking. Above all, she loved God, followed by her family, her country, and the human race. She was a natural entertainer who found great joy in singing, performing, and comedy.

She was preceded in heaven by her husband, Barry; her parents, Marvin and Annie Daniel; her son, Steve; her granddaughter, Nikki; her great-great-granddaughter, Royalty; her three brothers, Bobby, Andy, and Dwayne Daniel; and her sister, Maurene Jones.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Celey and Joel Celey(Wendy); her sisters, Virginia and Linda; and many dearly loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Gladys was a proud grandmother of 5, a great-grandmother of 12, and was blessed to see 12 great-great-grandchildren.

We say goodbye with loving memories. Graveside services were held in Texas on February 16, 2026, at Emerald Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Kennedale, TX.  The Fred L Jenkins Funeral Home, 10 South High Street, Morgantown, WV, is honored to publish this notice for the Celey family.
