Obituary

Geraldine Mae 'Jerry' Neville, 95, of Rock Forge passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, April 17, 2026, at her #1 daughter's house, Judith Ann, where she had lived for the last 15 months. She was born June 28, 1930, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Viola Casteel. She graduated from Morgantown High School in 1948,

Jerry dedicated many years of her life working as a foundry worker for Sterling Faucet in Sabraton, starting at the age of 18 and working there for 27 years. She later continued her career in healthcare, working at several nursing homes, including MonPointe, Sundale, and The Madison Center, where she cared for others with compassion and dedication into her eighties.

In her free time, Jerry found great joy in reading, especially crime novels, and scary fiction books often finishing a book each day up until the last few months of her life. She also enjoyed collecting and took pride in the items she gathered over the years. A devoted animal lover, she cherished the companionship of her many pets throughout her life.

She is survived by her only son William Neville and wife Michelle of Fairmont; daughters Judith Ann Dawson and husband Randy, Kelli Neville all of Morgantown, Tracy Hertig and husband Brian of Lebanon, VA; her first three grandsons Bryan Dawson and wife Shannon, Daniel Dawson, Tim Dawson and wife Stephanie all of Morgantown, Jessica Neville, Tabitha Neville, Billy Neville, Aurora Neville, Hunter Hertig, Zach Hertig, Emma Hertig, Noah Smith, and Lillie Smith; great grandchildren Alexis Buzzo, Maddy, Chloe, Tate, and Mae, and several other great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, one niece, one nephew and several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her last loyal companion of 14 years, her dog Lacy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Neville, in 1976; her brother, Junior Casteel; her special aunt, Wilda Johnson; and two newborn great-grandsons Daniel and Dustin Dawson.

In honoring Jerry's wishes, cremation arrangements are being handled by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, and no services will be held.

Condolences may be offered to the family at 1552 Saxman Avenue, Morgantown, WV 26505.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an animal rescue organization of your choice in memory of Jerry.
