Gerald Joseph Kelly,
80, of Brookhaven, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 6, 2017, surrounded by his family.
The son of the late Joseph Russell and Marie Schenk Kelly, he was born July 15, 1936 in Ashville, PA.
Gerald retired from Conrail on June 23, 1995, after 43 years of service. He was an equipment operator, drove tractor trailer, and was a union representative. Gerald was the president of the board of directors for the Patton Public Library, in Patton, PA for 19 years.
He is survived by his wife, of 58 years, Isobel Kelly; a son, Gerald R. Kelly; a daughter and her husband, Vicki and Rich Perry; three grandchildren: Sarah, Elizabeth and Benjamin Perry; sisters: Peggy, Mary Lois, Sally, Elayne, and Connie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, two sisters, ReeRee and Mary Janet; and a brother, Jack.
Gerald enjoyed football, baseball, and his Harley Davidson. Most of all he was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Gerald never met a stranger and will be missed by all.
Cremation services were provided by the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you, to the doctors and staff at the cancer center at Mon General Hospital, and everyone at Morgantown Hospice.
