George Albert Ogden Jr

George Albert Ogden Jr, 71, of Morgantown, WV passed away at WVU Ruby Memorial with his family by his side on October 6, 2017. He was born August 25th, 1946 to the late George Albert and Josephine (Fairfield) Ogden.

His passion in life was for his five grandchildren. George never knew a stranger and always willing to help anyone in need. George was a member of the VFW Post 9916 and Club 17. He was a Vietnam veteran and served in the Navy. George retired as a coal miner from Consol Energy.

He is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Ogden-Sisler and Bradly of Morgantown, WV and Catherine Ogden of Beaver Falls, PA; brother, Bill and Jennifer Ogden; five grandchildren, Ethan Olenick, Mary Faith Bellman, Chloe and Keira Conneway, and Riley Sisler; and many good friends, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his wife, Mary; and several aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to VFW Post 9916, Po Box 2176, Westover, WV 26501 and Club 17 Inc, #1 Brookstone Plaza, Morgantown, WV 26508.

Friends and Family will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, Sunday, October 8th, from 4pm until 8pm. Visitation will continue Monday, October 9th, from 10am until the time of service at 11am with Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnwood Cemetery with military honors provided by Westover VFW Post 9916.
