George Bryan Denis, Sr., 72, of Morgantown, passed away on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Bryan was born July 28, 1944 in Baltimore, MD, son, of the late George Elmer and Esther Wolf Denis.
Bryan retired from WVU as the Games Area Manager of the Mountainlair after more than 30 years of service. Bryan loved interacting with the kids on campus and sharing his words of wisdom. George was inducted in the WVU Student Affairs Hall of Fame. Bryan loved to fish in Chesapeake Bay. He was a huge fan of NASCAR and Jeff Gordon was his favorite driver.
Bryan is survived by his wife of 53 years Mrs. Pearl Smyth Denis, his children, Bryan Denis, Jr., (Angela), Robert Denis (Kelly) all of Morgantown, Dawn Doyle (Jolly) and John Denis (Loretta) all of Lake Lynn, PA.; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving is special cousin, Sheryl Roche of Ocean Pines, MD.
In addition to his parents, Bryan was preceded in death by an infant daughter and one sister Ruth Crist.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm and again on Wednesday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Lt. Atkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery.
