Genevieve Louise (Stewart) Tichenor, age, 91 and 122 days, formally of Hagans, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday July 6, 2014. She was born March 5, 1923 at Hitesanbarns, WV, the daughter of the late Charles Ernest and Margarette Melvina (Atwood) Stewart. She is survived by four daughters, Brenda and Billie Joe Allen of River Road, Morgantown, Linda Cordray of Hagans, Patricia Ewing of North Ridgeville, OH and Gloria and Larry Sickles of Morgantown; two sons Richard Rick' and Mary Tichenor of Fairmont Road, Morgantown and Lowell Bud' and Linda Tichenor of Georgetown; two brothers, Samuel Edward Stewart of Carmichaels, PA and Ronald Eugene Stewart of Green Acres, Morgantown; 19 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Charles Tichenor; six brothers, Alvin Reason Stewart of Smock, PA, William Bill' Stewart of Wiseman Road Morgantown, Calvin McClelland Stewart of Ohio, Charles Tub' Stewart of Florida, Harry Thomas Stewart, Ernest Lee Stewart of Waynesburg, PA and two sisters, Thelma Sis' Stewart Higginbotham formally of Hagans and Mary Margarette Stewart Mayse of Virginia. Genevieve was a wife, homemaker and mother. She loved her family very much. She loved to quote Ps. 23 and Ps. 100. She loved to read her Bible. She loved to mow the yard, grow a garden, grow flowers, can produce, make jellies, breads, workworkwork. She loved to walk, pick ginseng and yellow root. She liked to watch Westerns, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, all kinds of game shows. She loved to watch the animals, such as deer, groundhogs, squirrels, and all different types of birds. She liked to play Bingo, travel, go camping, and especially fishing. She loved to sew and make quilts, Raggedy Ann's and Andy's, and make yard ornaments. The thing she enjoyed the most was shopping. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the nurses, caretakers and staff at Home Away From Home for all their love, care and attention. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Wednesday July 9, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7 -9pm and again on Thursday July 10 from 10am until time of services at 11am with Rev. Stanley Merrifield officiating. Burial will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
