Garrett Gafford Brown, Sr.

Garrett Gafford Brown, Sr., 64, of Granville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, October 3, 2016. Gafford was born on New Year’s Day in 1952, son to the late Junior L. and Louise M. (Rowan) Brown. Gafford worked at Beaumont Glass Factory then Petite Coal Company prior to the automobile accident that left him disabled in 1974.

Faith in the Lord Jesus was very important to Gafford. He would often share his testimony with everyone. It was his desire to show the love of his Lord and tell others how it changed him forever. He attended the Miracle Mission Church in Mt. Morris, PA.

Gafford also had an incredible sense of humor, never new a stranger, and his door was always open. His heart was as big as his personality. Selfless, often stubborn, he didn’t waiver and could find the good in any situation. He will be sadly missed by so many.

Gafford is survived by his children, son, Garrett G. Brown, Jr. (Christina), daughter, Veronica Eddy (Clifton Rogers) all of Greensboro, PA, son Dale C. Brown of Granville; grandchildren, Derek and Brandon Brown and Meghan and Haden Eddy also of Greensboro, PA. Also surviving are his siblings, John “Juneyboy” Brown, Catherine “Jane” Brown-Estanich, Elmira “Marcie” Lewis (Lonnie), and Mary “Cookie” Brown.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Rogers Brown, and two brothers, James “Jim” Brown and Virgil K. Brown.

Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Friday Oct. 7, 2016 from 4pm until 8pm and again on Saturday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Rev. Raymond Morris officiating. Burial will follow at the Blacksville Cemetery.
