Freddie Lee Murray

Freddie Lee “Pap” Murray, 76, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at his residence. He was born September 26, 1940 in Morgantown to the late Lester “Nick” and Ada (Nicholson) Murray.

“Pap” was a devoted husband and father. He loved the outdoors, helping with the race car, and especially watching the Pirates. Pap was a loyal friend to many.

Fred is survived by his wife Wilma (Kennedy); sons, Freddie “Cub” Murray Jr and wife Betty, Douglas Murray and wife Carol; three grandchildren, Kellie Shaw, Marcus Rigney, and Nicholas Murray; three great grandchildren Addie Jo Johnson, Alex Shaw, and Gavin Henderson; two siblings Franklin Murray of Clyde, OH and Loretha Rice and husband Ernie; and many nieces and nephews and especially his nephew, Roger Goodwin who was more like his brother.

In addition to his parents, “Pap” is preceded in death by a grandson, Larry Henderson Jr; sisters, Loretta, Myrtle, and Wanda, and sister-in-law Patricia.

Family and friends will be received at the Nicholson Chapel beginning Monday, March 27th at 1pm until 10pm. Visitation will continue Tuesday, March 28th from 10am until the time of service at 11am with Pastor Jon Henry officiating. Burial will follow at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.
