Frances Joann Wade

Frances Joann Wade, 78, of Morgantown, WV, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024. Born on December 11, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Robert C. Wade, Sr., and Frankie Elizabeth Royce Wade.

Frances was a beloved sister, preceded in death by her sister Barbara Sue Wade Rosenberger and her best friend Lowell Shaffer, and survived by her siblings Robert C. Wade, Jr. (Jane Ann), Ruth Ann Roberts (Gene), and Donna Wade Johnson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances was known by many for her 46 years as a secretary at University High School. Her dedication was recognized when she was inducted into the UHS Athletic Hall of Fame in 2023 for her outstanding contributions to the athletic department. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life - camping at Big Bear Lake, curling up with a good book, giving her all to work and attending church with her cousin Sue Merrill.

Frances shared a special bond with her faithful Shih Tzu companion, Chip, who brought her endless love and comfort.

A graveside service will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mount Morris, PA, on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. All who wish to honor her memory are welcome to attend.
