Farris Clark, Jr., 76 of Morgantown, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at his home following a hard fought battle with an extended illness. He was born in Fairmont on December 07, 1946, one of seven children to Farris Clark, Sr, & Dorothy Jones Clark.
Farris was a graduate of Morgantown High School & was called to serve in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a convoy driver & was honorably discharged. Farris returned to civilian life & went to work in the coal mines soon after he was laid off & found employment with General Electric, where he would continue until his retirement in 2008.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 200 & attended Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Farris was an animal lover and had many hobbies but especially enjoyed working with his hands. He would often be found in his garden, tending his yard or in the garage, turning wrenches.
He is survived by his wife, Adelle Boyers Clark; son Farris Clark, III (Nancy) of Las Vegas, NV; daughter Shallon Oglesby (Michael) of Scott Depot, WV; step-children, Amanda Davis (Courtney) of Kingwood, WV, Dakota Boyers of Morgantown; grandchildren, Adylynn Clark, Mianna & Mydan Oglesby & Madison & Grayson Davis.
Also surviving are his siblings, Gloria McKinney & JoAnn Rice, both of Columbus, OH, Renea Martin of Charleston, Charles Clark & Robert Clark (EJ), all of Morgantown & a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & numerous extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Farris & Dorothy; one sister, Betty W. Jackson & stepson, Jesse James Roton.
Family & friends are invited to gather at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 2 PM until the time of services at 4 PM. Farris’s request for cremation will be honored following his services
