Ernest 'Ernie' Frederick Cooke, Jr.

Ernest Frederick Ernie' Cooke, Jr., 65, of Morgantown passed away on Saturday December 20, 2014 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born September 23, 1949 in Cleveland, OH, a son of Ernest F. Cooke, Sr. of Hagerstown, MD and the late Susan Shondrick Cooke. He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Lana Jo Bolyard Cooke; step-daughters Wendy Zander of Belton, SC, Cindy Perdue of Morgantown; son Edward Annon of Morgantown; three sisters Susan Divito and husband Paul of Cleveland, OH, Rebecca Cooke and husband Russel Lorraine of Rose Valley, PA, and Theresa Mullett and husband Dale of Woodbine, MD; four brothers Gary Cooke and wife Joan of Richland, WA, Donald Cooke and wife Tess of Gaithersburg, MD, Anthony Cooke and wife Amy of Kensington, MD, and David Cooke and wife Helen of Ellicot City, MD Ernie was an avid Cleveland and WVU sports fan. He was a graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and worked in the printing business for over 30 years. After retirement, he enjoyed working as a crossing guard at Brookhaven Elementary. He also enjoyed hosting a trivia game on WVAQ. Ernie will be remembered as a kind man with a quick wit and fun-loving spirit. He was dearly loved by all who were part of his life. Family and friends will be received at Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Friday December 26, 2014 from 5-8pm and again on Saturday from noon until the time of funeral services at 1pm with ministers Jon P'ahok Reed and Llew Williams officiating.
