Enos Jack Brummage, 83, passed away on Thursday, June 15, at Mon Health Medical Center. He was born on July 25, 1939, in Jakes Run, WV, to Enos E and Lillian Pearl Brummage. Jack led a fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication to family, and a genuine heart.
In his professional career, Jack worked as a contractor and served as a fire boss for a company specializing in the installation of ventilation shafts for coal mines in the area. His expertise and commitment to safety made a lasting impact on the industry. Additionally, Jack was renowned for his exceptional mechanical skills, earning him a reputation as an excellent mechanic.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jack's greatest joy stemmed from his family. He shared 51 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Janet Anderson Brummage. Together, they created a nurturing and loving home. Jack was a devoted father to his children: Scott (Kim) Brummage of Daybrook, Brian (Melissa) Brummage of Pentress, and Heather Brummage and her fiancé Kelcey Wolfe of Pentress.
Jack's love extended to his cherished grandchildren, Jessie Jolliff (Cheyanne Palmer), Abel Ryker Jak Wolfe, Chantz Brummage, Cannon Brummage, Brenna Brummage, and Scarlet Brummage. He found immense joy in their presence and was actively involved in their lives. Jack's kindness, guidance, and support will forever resonate within their hearts.
Sadly, Enos Jack Brummage was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enos E and Lillian Pearl Brummage, two brothers, Jim and Jerry Brummage, sister Jane Babb, one nephew James K Brummage, and grandson Gunner Brummage.
Words cannot fully capture the essence of Jack's personality, but those who knew him would describe him as hardworking, family-oriented, fun-loving, and sincere. He approached life with a twinkle in his eye, a willingness to lend a helping hand, and a heart overflowing with love.
A private ceremony was held by his family, and Jack's request for cremation will be honored.
