Elsie Emma Solomon

Elsie Hedges Solomon, 89, of Morgantown, WV, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Windy Hill Manor, in Kingwood, WV.

The daughter of the late Stephen and Rosa Hedges, she was born October 20, 1926 in Bretz, WV.

Elsie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her kitchen was the place to be and everyone was welcome.

She is survived by a son and his wife, James and Pamela Solomon of Virginia Beach, VA; two daughters and their husbands: Sherry and Jody Everly of Morgantown, WV and Janet and Joe Whipkey of Morgantown, WV; two granddaughters and their husbands, Shannon and Andy Thornhill and Kara and Rodney Jaggie; and two great-granddaughters, Emma Thornhill and Paige Jaggie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie L. Solomon, February 18, 2015; brothers and sisters: Stephen Hedges, John “Ike” Hedges, Rose Marflake, Olga Yedlosky, Ella Markusic.

Private services were held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home assisted the family with the services.

The family would like to give a special Thank You to the staff of Windy Hill Manor and Hospice Care Corporation of Preston County for the love and compassion given to their mother.
