Elmer Murray

Elmer Ross (Jack) Murray, 102, of Beulah Rd Morgantown, went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2013. He was born on June 16, 1911 in Morgantown, the son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth McKinney Murray. Jack was a hard working coal miner, hand loading coal, most of his life. He loved putting out a garden and taking his doctors and nurses fresh produce every year and he loved planting lots of flowers. Jack was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan. He is survived by his son, Gary Murray and wife Alberta, grandchildren Monica, Cynthia, Tina, Lisa, Roberta, Cheryl and children, Susan, Debra, Samantha and Beth, great-grandchildren Heather, Eric, Billy, Brooke, Chris, JR, Steven, Casey, Morgan, Ryan, Jordan, Courtney, Jessica, Madison, Shelba, Matthew, Matt, Michael, Dallas, Tommy, Randell, Shawn and great-great grandchildren Ikram, Sumyia, Oumaymah, Little Brooke, Nathan, Nicholas, Lane, Kolie, Candis and one great-great-great grandchild, Haley June. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eddie Murray, three sons Junior Murray, Billy Murray and Edward Murray, four daughters Lavella Jane (Dump) Murray and three infant daughters, three grandsons Anthony Murray, Little Gary Murray and Matthew Murray and a daughter-in-law Clara Murray, 9 sisters and 2 brothers. Friends will be received at Nicholson Chapel on Wednesday December 4, 2013 from 11am until the time of funeral services on Thursday at 1pm with Pastor Alvie Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Summers Cemetery.
