Elizabeth 'Libby' Ann Corrado

March 2, 1940 — August 27, 2012

Elizabeth Ann Libby' Corrado slipped peacefully into her Saviour's welcoming arms Monday August 27, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 2, 1940 in Morgantown, daughter of the late Joseph Samuel Trovato and Ruth Madeline Trovato. She was a 1958 graduate of St. Francis High School and a 1961 graduate of West Virginia University. Her public school teaching career included positions in Gahanna, OH, Royal Oak, MI, Arthurdale, WV and Baltimore County, MD. She briefly retired from teaching to begin the job she most cherished; raising her daughter Gina. Later, she returned to teaching in the Christian School system serving in the K-3 programs at Covenant Christian School, Pierpont Nazarene Christian School, Alliance Christian School and Trinity Christian School. She often said that she had the best job in the world when she could teach little ones about the Lord. She retired from Trinity in May 2007. Throughout her life, Libby's great joy lay in providing delicious Italian meals and fabulous desserts for those she loved. Family, friends and neighbors were all the fortunate recipients of her culinary skills. She loved cooking for them and they loved her. She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael J. Corrado whom she married on September 7, 1963; her loving daughter, Gina M. Corrado of Lebanon, OH, her two sisters, Patricia (Anthony) Paris of Huron, OH, and Sherry Lynn Trovato of Baltimore, MD and Morgantown. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special appreciation to Sierra Burnette for her competent and faithful care of Libby throughout her illness. Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Thursday August 30, 2012 from 4-9pm and again on Friday at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Elmhurst Street Morgantown from 10am until time of services at 11am with Pastor Douglas Miller officiating. Entombment will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Garden of Tranquility Mausoleum.
