Elgy Washington Hoxter

July 10, 1925 — November 11, 2015

Elgy Washington Hoxter, of Morgantown, WV, went home to be with our Lord, November 11th, 2015. She was born in Smithfield, PA, and later moved to Philadelphia, PA where she met her husband, soul mate, love of her Henry Hoxter. She later moved to Morgantown where she was employed and retired from Mon General Hospital as a medical distribution technician. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 53 years, Henry S. Hoxter; three children, Carole and spouse Roderick Hoxter-Parker, Brian H. and spouse Shirlette Hoxter, and Tracey A. Hoxter, an adopted son Ralph B. Hale, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her precious yorkie, Einstein. Her favorite things in the whole world were spending time with her family and friends. The Hoxter annual New Year's Party was a much anticipated event. She was an avid reader, especially anything to do with politics. She enjoyed being outdoors and had such an appreciation of nature, all types of little critters, especially birds would find their way to her porch knowing that they would always be fed. Mom was a nurturing soul, caring for people and animals alike. She shared a special language with small children and animals. She was like the Pied Piper as they would gravitate toward her. We will miss her wisdom, her love, and her tell it like it is way of communicating. We would like to share one of her favorite quotes, "It takes less time to do a thing right, than to explain why you did it wrong". Thank you Mom for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Until we meet again Honoring Elgy's wishes, cremation services were provided by the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.
