Eleanor Mae Ferrell

Eleanor Mae Ferrell, 84 died Sunday July 25, 2010 at the Monongalia General Hospital. Eleanor was born on April 1, 1926 in Brownton, WV. She was the daughter of the late Mary Ann Cochran Summers of Morgantown and the late Francis Clifford Laird of Belpre, OH. Mrs. Farrell was a lifelong member of Pisgah United Methodist Church of Morgantown and began teaching classes to the children of the community as a teenager. She was also a past chairwoman of Easter Seals of Taylor County. She also worked as the Postmaster of the Little Falls community for several years. Always a happy homemaker and mother, Eleanor is survived by her children, Linda Lee Edgell and husband Herbert Dave' Edgell, Jr., of Morgantown, Kenneth L. Ferrell and wife Gail of Little Falls, WV Laura Kay Malone and husband Timothy, of York, PA, and Lana Jean Gemas and husband Marvin Dube' Gemas of Morgantown and Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Villinger and husband Fred of Pulaski, VA. She was also survived by nine grandchildren, Eric Ferrell, Amanda Kucish, Dave Edgell, III, Pamela Smith, Maria Sites, Robert Hussion, Zachary White, Alison Westfall and Mark Gemas; eleven great grandchildren, Louis Edgell, Reese Edgell, Amber Sites, Madelyne Sites, Lauren Hussion, Sarah Hussion and Tyler Hussion, Eli Thompson Alan and Bret Bachhofer and Dillon Cartwright; stepbrother, Ronnie Glen McNatt of Sarasota, FL and stepmother, Grace Laird of Belpre, OH. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Delmar Eugene Gene' Ferrell and a brother Robert Francis Laird of Westerville, OH. Family and friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Wednesday July 28 from 3-8:30pm. She will lie in repose on Thursday at the Pisgah United Methodist Church from 10am until11am at which time a celebration of life will be performed by Rev. Thomas Shepherd and Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Villinger officiating. Burial will follow at the Pisgah United Methodist Cemetery, Old Rt. 73, Smithtown Rd. Morgantown. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Mrs. Eleanor Ferrell to the Pisgah UMC, C/O Sandra Schnopps 2634 Smithtown Rd. Morgantown, WV 26508
