Edward Frank Holipsky

Edward Frank Holipsky, 84, of Goshen Rd., Morgantown, passed away peacefully Monday, January 11, 2010, surrounded by his family, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born July 29, 1925 in Bretz, WV, son of the late Peter and Jennie (Komowski) Holipsky. Eddie was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army. He was employed at Sterling Faucet Company prior to his retirement from Consolidation Coal Company in 1990, after serving 37 years in the coal industry.Eddie was a member of St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and a good game of pinochle, but especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Eddie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Lucy Ann Dipalo Holipsky; daughters, Sandra Mayhew and husband James, Linda Snider and husband Steven, Patricia Sargent and husband John, one son Edward Holipsky, Jr., and daughter Jennifer Beckner and husband David, all of Morgantown. Eddie was a loving and devoted ‘Pap’ to his 12 grandchildren, Adam and Audra Mayhew, Emily, Hannah, Rachel and Ryan Sargent, Benjamin and Christopher Holipsky, and Aaron, Caleb, Megan and Silas Beckner. Also surviving are brothers Tom Krynicki of Flat Rock, Indiana, Frank Krynicki of Wilmington, NC, George Krynicki of Bretz, Richard Krynicki of Reedsville; sisters Victoria Bonnette of Bretz, Irene Shaffer of Natrona Heights, PA and Joyce Fiore of Lawrenceville, GA. In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Scarton and Agnes Neugebauer and an infant grandson. Friends will be received at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Thursday January 14, 2010 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm with a Wake Service to be held at 8:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 15, at 10 am with Rev. Father Colombo Bandiera as celebrant. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery with military rites conducted by Morgantown VFW Post 548 and WVANG Camp Dawson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Ed to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV. 26508.
