Edith Mildred Dalton

July 17, 1923 — June 29, 2015

Our mother is the sweetest and most delicate of all. She knows more of paradise than angels can recall, and on Monday morning June 29, 2015, Edith Mildred Dalton, 91, of the Mountain View Road entered into that paradise to forever be with her Lord and Savior. Mildred was born July 17, 1923, in Morgantown, daughter to the late Calvin and Isa Smith Dalton. She worked as a cashier for the Cowen Bakery and later retired from Nickels Bakery. Mildred was both a devoted and dedicated lifetime member of the Mountain View Free Methodist Church. Mildred enjoyed gardening and cherished each Sunday afternoon preparing dinner for her family. Mildred is survived by her son, Curtis Dalton and wife Leona; daughter, Nellie Donley and husband Ron; daughter Sylvia Koon and husband Clyde; daughter Carol Dalton and husband Ronnie; sons Mick Dalton and wife Judy and Mike Dalton and wife Susan; grandchildren, Barbara, Penny and husband D.J. and Roxane and husband Rich, Donna, Kelly, Cindy and Mark, Belinda and husband Michael and Toni and husband Aaron, Steve and wife Toni and Brian and wife B.J., Jason, Justin and wife Chasity and Colby great-grandchildren, Nathan, Candon, Max and Alicia and husband Chris, Haley, Brittany and husband Josh, Bobby, Tiffany and Shelby, Ashlee, Devin, Sean, Chase and Meredith, Mariesa, Alyssa, Kylie, Colton and Braylee. Also surviving are Mildred's great-great grandchildren, Damien, Noah, Lucas and Kane and her sister Doris Dalton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoy Dalton, three sisters, four brothers and one grandchild Christopher Clyde Koon. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm and again on Thursday July, 2 from 11am until time of services at noon with Pastor Francis Craker and Pastor Charles MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Kingwood Pike. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mountain View Free Methodist Church, C/O Francis Craker 337 Pond Road, Morgantown, WV 26508. The family would like to thank nurses of Morgantown Hospice, Darla and Apryl for their compassion and care given to Mildred and family over the last several weeks.
