Dorothy Emma Rowan, 84, of Mount Morris, PA, went home by the wings of a dove to be with the Lord on Sunday February 16, 2014. She passed away at home surrounded by family and under the care of Amedysis Hospice. Dorothy was born October 15, 1929 in Preston County, WV, daughter of the late Genevieve Barnes Brown and Harvey Savage. She was a homemaker, taught Sunday school, and was a pianist in the church for many years. Dorothy is survived by her daughter at heart Karen Mayle of Morgantown; stepson and caregivers Kenneth Punk' Rowan, JR. and companion Kelley Phillips of Mount Morris, PA; Albert D. Rowan of Morgantown; stepdaughter Sandy Seaman and husband Jimmy of Morgantown; her sister Mildred Bartis and husband David of Pace, FL; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years Rev. Kenneth Rowan, Sr., and sister Betty J. Brown. Friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Tuesday February 18, 2014 from 7-9pm and again on Wednesday from 10am until the time of funeral services at 11am with Pastor Fred Tomlinson officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
