Dorothy L. Carlin

Dorothy L. Carlin, 86, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 17, 2011. She was born May 18, 1925 in Lynnfield Center, MA the daughter of the late Rose Urquhart and Paul Peterson. Dorothy's life took her to many places and she made many friends along the way. She was a hard working woman who loved her family fiercely. Dorothy is survived by her son Eric Buckingham (Jeena) of Athens, GA; and her daughter Vicky Shiel (Mick) of Morgantown; granddaughters Denise Whitaker (Dick), Brigitte DeSimone (Bert), Rebecca Bourquin all of Athens, GA, Shauna Davis (Mike), and Kristi Shiel of Morgantown, and Erin Danko (Brian) of Bobtown, PA. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Billy Spaar VI, Wylam DeSimone, Logan Alexander, Alizabeth Davis, Leighton Bradley, Avery Shiel, and Zander Danko. Dorothy is also survived by a sister-in-law Jean Gillespie and a brother-in-law Kenny Carlin, and severl nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Elvin Buckingham and Ralph Carlin and her brother Paul Peterson. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Tuesday July 19, 2011 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm and again on Wednesday from 9am until time of funeral services at 10am with Rev. Mitchell Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at WV National Cemetery, Pruntytown, WV.
