Dorothea Aileen Myers

Dorothea Aileen ‘Dorothy’ Myers, 93, of Orange Park, FL, formerly of Morgantown passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Haven Hospice Care, Orange Park, FL. She had been making her home with her daughter Joyce Myers Payne, for the last several years.

Dorothy was born May 18, 1923 in Morgantown, daughter to the late Jay Dewey Philips and Marguerite Wright Philips. She was a graduate of Morgantown High School class of 1941.

For 70 years, Dorothy enjoyed bowling and participated in many leagues both in the Morgantown and Florida areas. Before leaving the area, Dorothy was a faithful member of the Cheat Lake United Methodist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Joyce Myers Payne (Daniel) of Orange Park, FL; son Terry Myers (Donna) of Palm Bay, FL; grandchildren, Brenda Payne Arnold (Brent), Kimberly Gifford (Matt), Adam Payne (Shea); great grandchildren, Megan, Brooke, Blake, Cole and Wyatt.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Myers; one brother, Darrell Philips and daughter-in-law, Karen Kerns Myers.

Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 10am until time of services at 11am with Pastor Andrew Burd-Harris officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her husband Harry at the Zion Cemetery, Cheat Lake.
