Dorotha Jean Holley

July 30, 1922 — January 15, 2013

Dorotha Jean Johnson Holley of Cheat Lake passed away into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at her home. She was born in Morgantown on July 30, 1922 to Gracie (White) and Edgar Clawson. After graduating from Morgantown High School, Dorotha worked in the County Assessor's Office. She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Morgantown. Dorotha loved music and was very active in the church music program, singing solos and duets, and eventually directing the adult and junior choirs. Dorotha and her first husband, Robert Johnson, made sure that their two daughters attended church regularly and were grounded in the Bible and their faith in Jesus Christ. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren. After the death of Robert, she found love once again with her second husband Jack Holley. They shared 14 years together along with their dog, Bengi. Dorotha was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Milton Johnson; her parents Edgar and Gracie Clawson; and her brother Rev. Dr. Edgar J. Clawson. She is survived by her husband Jack Holley; daughter Deborah and husband Jay Everly; daughter Rebecca and husband Sam Baldwin; a sister Sarah Jane Campbell; a step-daughter Diane Holley; grandchildren Drs. Jeffrey and wife Jessica Everly, Jennifer and husband Curtis Gibson, Stephen Baldwin, Adam and wife Amber Baldwin; and step-granddaughter Elyse Cox. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Thursday January 17, 2013 from 5pm-8pm. Visitation will continue Friday at Christian and Missionary Alliance Church from 10am until the time of funeral services at 11am.
