Donna J Slavensky

Donna J. Slavensky, 77, of Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born May 16, 1938 in Morgantown, daughter to the late Marion and Winifred Grimm Williams. Donna worked as a cook for the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department for 10 years until her retirement. It has been said that Donna made the best vegetable soup, homemade noodles and especially her blackberry cobbler. She loved to cook for anyone. She spent time camping and fishing, was an avid gardener, loved ceramics and crocheting. She wouldn't miss BINGO on Monday nights and recently became fantastic at Candy Crush. She most enjoyed time with her grandchildren and spoiled them any chance she got. Donna is survived by her two daughters, Vicky Rousseau (Greg) and Sharon Hoffman (Fred); one son Roy Allen Slavensky, all of Cassville; one brother Larry Williams (Maggie) of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Christina Flotkoetter, Jennifer Slavensky, Morgan and Mackenzie Slavensky, Bryan Willard, Emily Andes, Rachel Rousseau, Cameron and Logan Hoffman. Also surviving is one great grandson, Andon Folkertsma and numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Roy Slavensky and one sister Betty Sekula. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday, June 14, 2015 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm and again on Monday from 10am until time of services at 11am with family friend Bobby Burgoyne and Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at the Olive Cemetery, Pentress, WV.
