Donald Morrison, of 326 Fields Park Road in Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015. The son of the late Lee and Maude Morrison, he was born May 22, 1919 in Milton, WV. While growing up, he enjoyed working on the family farm and eventually attended Marshall University as a History Major. As the Second World War grew closer, Donald enlisted in the United States Navy to do his part. He was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and served with distinction in the strategic planning office for the Pacific theater. At the war's end, Donald returned to West Virginia, completed his degree and took a position with the National Gypsum Company as a sales representative for large construction operations. In 1949, he married Margaret Lucille Ward of Clarksburg with whom he would share a romance and many adventures until her passing in 1993. When he retired after more than thirty years, he indulged his voracious appetite for reading and tending his garden with a remarkable, green thumb. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and also brothers: Vasco, Glen, and Marvin; two sisters: Jessie and Ruth. He is survived by his son, Donald Stephen Morrison and his wife Denise; his daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Steve; and his son, Gregory Alan Morrison and his wife, Lucy. He also leaves five grandchild and five great-grandchildren in his legacy. Donald Morrison touched many lives during his 95 years on earth. He could be stern, but always with a mind to tend for those he loved. His family is comforted in the thought that he has been reunited with those who returned to Heaven before him. He will always be remembered in our minds and treasured in our hearts. Family and friends may call at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday, March 9, 2015, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service in the funeral home with Pastor William Page officiating. Cremation services will be provided by Fred L.
