Donald William Johnson, Jr.

June 4, 1934 — February 14, 2010

Donald W. ‘Bill’ Johnson, Jr., 75 of Morgantown passed away Sunday February 14, 2010 at Monongalia General Hospital. He was born June 4, 1934 in Hoard, WV a son to the late Donald and Mabel McCourt Johnson. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Sgt. First Class. He also retired from Mt. State Bit where he worked as a dispatcher. Donald was a member of the American Legion of Point Marion, PA Post #499. He is survived by three sons William Johnson and wife Karen, Donald Johnson and wife Sharon, and Kenneth Johnson and wife Brenda; a daughter Mary Jean Harness and husband Robert; three step-sons Clifford Eugene Eichelberger, Brian Eichelberger and wife Ruth Anne, and Mark Eichelberger and fiancée Misty; a step-daughter Gloria Thomas and husband Rick; and 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Bill is also survived by a sister Susie Pesko; a sister-in-law Geneva Johnson; and nieces and nephews Connie Triplett, Brad Johnson, Sally Stone, Lee Walker, and Donnie Walker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley J. Eichelberger Johnson; a son Dale Johnson; a step-son Jeff Eichelberger; four brothers Jesse Johnson, Lloyd Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, and George ‘Butch’ Johnson; and a sister Wanda Johnson. Friends will be received at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Wednesday February 17, 2010 from 3-5pm and 6:30pm - 9pm and again on Thursday from 12pm noon until time of services at 1pm with Rev. Robert D. Harness officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hills Cemetery with military rites conducted by Westover VFW Post 9916 and WVANG Honor Guard of Camp Dawson Kingwood, WV.
