Donald Roy Garrison

Donald Roy Garrison, 64, of Martinsburg, WV, formerly of Morgantown, passed away, Sunday, July 19, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. The son of Leanna Haines Garrison, of Morgantown, and the late Roy I. Garrison, he was born August 29, 1950, in Waynesburg, PA. Donald's granddaughter was the light of his life and he loved and cherished his time with his daughter and son-in-law. He was known as a hard worker and enjoyed dancing. Donald attended Fox Chapel, Chestnut Ridge Church, and Hedgesville Church. He worked in human resources for Consol for 25 years and worked as a mental health specialist at Chestnut Ridge Hospital for 15 years. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Michael Phillips, of Martinsburg; a granddaughter, Breanna Phillips; three brothers: Ronald Garrison of Morgantown, Daniel Garrison of Fairmont, and Timothy Garrison of Frederick, MD. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, John "Tommy" Garrison. Family and friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, Friday, from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. service with Pastor Tim Wotring officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made in Donald's memory to Hospice of The Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane Kearneysville, WV.
