Diana Lee Barnett

Diana Lee Barnett, 65 of the Brookhaven Community, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her family. She fought courageously, never wavering and has won the victory. Her spirit has found peace and her love lives on.

Diana was born on August 8, 1951 daughter to the late Mary Jane Conner Brooks and Johnny Brooks of Morgantown. She worked more than 33 years for Chico Enterprises and retired as the manager of the Hero Hut. She worked hard for her family and cherished time surrounded by her grandchildren.

In addition to her father, Diana is survived by her husband Russell Barnett, Jr. In November, Diana and Russell would have celebrated 50 years of marriage. Also surviving is her daughter, Kimberly McMillen and husband Deon; son, Russell David Barnett and wife Jennifer; one brother, John Brooks and wife Cathy all of Morgantown and six grandchildren, Deon Scott McMillen, II, Dustin McMillen, Casey Barnett, Keirsten Barnett, Colby Barnett and Kara Barnett.

Diana has been reunited with her mother Mary and granddaughter Kalyssa Barnett.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 2-4 & 6-8pm and on Thursday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Pastor James Cooley officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Hills Cemetery.
