Deloris 'Dolly' Mcgettigan

Deloris "Dolly" McGettigan, 85, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the West Bay Nursing Center in Westlake, Ohio following an extended illness. Dolly was born on February 16, 1932 to the late William and Arletta Davies in Cassville, WV. She married the love of her life James "Earl" McGettigan on February 9, 1941. Dolly and Earl were longtime residents of Westover, WV. She was Methodist by faith and a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. Early on, Dolly worked as a secretary at Riverside Junior High School and later retired from her secretarial position at the USDA in Morgantown. She loved to travel with her husband, especially to Orange Lake, FL. Their numerous trips were well documented by the many photographs she took and meticulously labelled. Dolly adored spending time with her family and friends and dedicated her time to ensuring every holiday was special for them. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time in her flower garden, reading and cheering on the Mountaineers. In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her beloved husband James "Earl" McGettigan. She leaves behind two sons, Mark McGettigan of Cross Lanes, WV and Jim McGettigan of South Weber, Utah; four grandchildren, Patrick McGettigan of Morgantown, WV; Kaitlyn McGettigan of Syracuse, Utah; Kellie McGettigan of St. Albans; WV and Michelle McGettigan of Westover, WV; one great grandson, Colin Dawson; one sister, Judy (Jerry) Smith of Youngstown, OH; and three brothers: Don (Wanda) Davies of Youngstown, OH; Rich (Alice) Davies of Grafton, WV and Gary (Helen) Davies of Morgantown, WV and several additional family members and friends. Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home Tuesday January 30, 2018 from 5-7pm and again on Wednesday from noon until the time of funeral services at 1 pm.
