Delbert Marshall Barnett, Jr.

Delbert Marshall Barnett, Jr., age 72, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 9, 1949, in Morgantown a son of Delbert Marshall Barnett, Sr. and Della May Claypole Barnett. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Barnett. He is survived by his two daughters, Cindy Smith and Theresa Golden; a son, Tim Barnett; two sisters, Carol Kirk and Delores Hovatter; a brother, James Barnett; as well as his eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Delbert went straight to work after high school, spending most of his time as a Coal Miner with Martinka Coal Mines. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed repairing vehicles, going on cruises, hunting, and camping. One activity he really looked forward to was his frequent fishing trips with his family. Delbert also enjoyed spending time with his precious dogs. The family will receive friends at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 12 PM – 4 PM and again on Monday, February 21, 2022 from 11 AM until the time of service at 12 PM with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Delbert will be laid to rest at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery in Morgantown, WV.
